Geen brings to BJK a unique blend of private and public sector experience where he has served in several top managerial and executive support roles including public service as the Aide to the Mayor of the City of Middletown, Connecticut and as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Town of Stratford, Connecticut. As the CAO, Mr. Thazhampallath had direct responsibility for the creation and implementation of a $190 million dollar operating budget, the Town’s capital budget, leadership and supervisory responsibilities over all the Town’s public safety and community service operations. In this period as CAO he also assisted the Town Attorney’s Office and Human Resource Departments to set high level legal and personnel strategies. Mr. Thazhampallath also led numerous special economic development, community relations and public construction projects as well as numerous high profile public procurement efforts, requests for proposals and selection committees. Mr. Thazhampallath’s advanced analytical, communications and relationship building skills were instrumental in creating bipartisan bridges, chairing various committees and earning the trust of the Town leadership. Of special legal note, in his capacity of CAO Mr. Thazhampallath led overhauls of the Town’s Administrative Policies, implemented a new contractual review system for Town vendor contracts and wrote key Town Council resolutions. Mr. Thazhampallath holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and his Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the Connecticut and federal Bars and has served as the Middletown Interim Deputy City Attorney where he also reviewed municipal contracts and authored various resolutions and Town ordinances. Mr. Thazhampallath is a life-long resident of Middletown, Connecticut and is active in community organizations, such as the Northern Middlesex YMCA, and was a member of Middletown's Board of Education for one four year term. He has also been a member of the Wesleyan University/Middletown Community Affairs Committee and served as the Moody Elementary School roof repair project chairman. |
